The Innovation of Loneliness (Motion Graphic)

In an age where everyone you know has some form of social media account – be it Twitter, Facebook or something else – it seems strange to think that social networking online can add to the feeling of being lonely. But what is the connection between social networks and a feeling of loneliness?

This video from Shimi Cohen, which remarkably is his final project at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, draws on an excellent article from Dr. Yair-Hamburgers entitled The Invention of Loneliness, and the words of Sherry Turkle from her excellent TED talk, entitled Connected, But Alone.
